A rare Chamberlain's Worcester figure of the Pelican in her Piety, c.1810-20, the bird modelled with wings raised behind, her beak piercing her breast to draw blood, raised on a chamfered rectangular base, puce script mark, good restoration to one wing tip, 9.3cm high.
The Pelican in her Piety is a Christian symbol relating to sacrifice and salvation. It was believed that the pelican would draw its own blood to feed its chicks in the absence of food.

William Pollard worked as a china painter at Swansea, before being headhunted by Henry Daniel in 1822. He married his wife, Eliza Green, while working with Daniel and returned to the Swansea area after 1827.

An English patch box of Royal commemorative interest, early 19th century, the oval form painted with the three feathers of the Prince of Wales issuing from a crown, inscribed around 'May the feathers of the Prince never fly away with his Conduct', the moulded base decorated a pale blue, internal mirror, some restoration, 4.4cm.

The inscription relates to the poor public opinion of the behaviour of the future George IV during his period of Regency, owing to his dissolute lifestyle and dismissive treatment of his estranged wife, Caroline of Brunswick.

A rare South Staffordshire enamel patch or snuff box of political significance, c.1801, painted with a Union flag over a shield bearing a banner inscribed '100', within a raised beaded border, inscribed 'Civil Liberty & Public Prosperity Be the Union & new Century', the base decorated in a pale pink shade, internal mirror, 4.5cm.
The inscription probably relates to the Act of Union of 1801 which, William Pitt argued, would strengthen the connection between England and Ireland, promoting peace and encouraging trade. The 100 refers to the number of new members of the House of Commons that were created as the result of this legislation.

A commemorative English enamel patch or snuff box, c.1797-98, the oval form printed in black with a spoiled anchor between laurel branches above the inscription 'Duncan and Victory', raised on a moulded green base, internal mirror, some good restoration, 4.5cm.
The inscription on the box refers to the Battle of Camperdown on 11th October 1797, when Admiral Adam Duncan was victorious over the Batavian naval fleet, as part of the French Revolutionary Wars. 1st Viscount Duncan rose to prominence during the Seven Years War and was promoted to admiral in 1795. He was raised to the peerage as Viscount Duncan following his victory at Camperdown.

An unusual English enamel patch box of literary and political interest, c.1770-80, the oval form painted with an old lady conversing with a bearded traveller beneath the inscription 'Sad historian of the pensive Plain', within a white beaded border on a dark blue ground, some restoration, 5.3cm across.
The quote and scene is taken from Oliver Goldsmith's 1770 poem 'The Deserted Village' and Isaac Taylor's print illustrating this verse. Goldsmith's heroic verse was a social commentary on the depopulation of rural villages in England and especially the poet's native Ireland, as inhabitants emigrated to America. However, the poem has also been connected to the destruction of the village of Nuneham Courtenay in Oxfordshire, which was destroyed by the 1st Earl Harcourt to make way for parkland. One solitary old woman was allowed to remain living in her property and may have been the inspiration for Goldsmith's 'sad historian'.

A small South Staffordshire enamel double snuff box, c.1770-90, the rectangular form fitted with two hinged covers, one painted with a shepherd and his flock before an obelisk and river, the other with a flower spray, reserved on a pink ground with white trellis decoration, some restoration to the base, 5.2cm across.

A South Staffordshire enamel patch box, c.1770, of rectangular form, the top painted with a figure and horses in a village landscape, within a gilt scroll border on a turquoise ground, the sides with two similar vignettes bordered by a gilt trellis design, the inside inscribed ' Tendres Soupirs Seconde mes Desirs ', fitted with interior mirror, with gilt metal mounts, some cracking to the top, 5cm across.
